Flip the bag over. That's the test we want you to run, on us and on everyone else in this aisle.
Most gourmet popcorn brands lead with a feeling — indulgent, artisan, crafted with love. Almost none of them survive a straight read of their own ingredient panel. We'd rather tell you exactly what's in each bag, flavor by flavor, and let you decide.
The clean three. Red Carpet Butter, Gourmet Caramel, and Caramel Pecan Bliss are popped in coconut oil with no seed oils anywhere in the recipe. Gourmet Caramel is four ingredients. Red Carpet Butter is four ingredients. That's not a marketing simplification — that's the whole label.
The Chicago classics. Sharp Cheddar and Chicago Mix are popped in coconut oil, built around a real dehydrated cheese blend and dark molasses caramel. Chicago Mix carries a small amount of soybean and palm oil in its seasoning components, and both flavors use a couple of approved color additives to keep the cheddar looking like cheddar. We're not going to call these "clean" — we're going to call them accurate.
The bold two. Fire Walker and Sassy Mamma are where we stop optimizing for a clean panel and start optimizing for heat. Fire Walker's burn comes from real oleoresin of capsicum, not a vague "spice blend." Sassy Mamma is literally Gourmet Caramel, Sharp Cheddar, and Fire Walker mixed together in one bag after each batch is made — which means its ingredient list is exactly what you'd expect: all three, combined, nothing hidden.

Zachary's health journey after a kidney transplant is why we started paying this much attention to ingredients in the first place. It's also why we'd rather tell you where a bag doesn't qualify as clean than let a badge do the talking for us.
If it lasts more than 90 days, leave it on the shelf.
